8 Tips to Declutter Your Life During The Holidays

Decluttering your home for the holiday season doesn't have to be stressful or time consuming, and It's never too late to start decluttering your home. In fact, if you're already feeling overwhelmed by the task ahead of you, these eight tips will help you declutter your life this holiday season!

The holidays are a great time for family gatherings, but they also bring lots of stress and work involved in preparing for the festivities. But there are things you can do to keep yourself organized while enjoying the festivities.

  1. Start with the Kitchen.

If you're hosting a big meal at your house, start by clearing out the kitchen. Remove any items that aren't being used, such as extra dishes, pots and pans, and food leftovers. Then, organize the remaining items into categories, such as utensils, plates, glasses, cups, etc. Finally, put away everything that's not needed right now.

  1. Clean out your pantry.

If you haven't cleaned out your pantry yet, now is the perfect time to do so. Throw away expired food and toss any items that aren't being used. Then, organize your shelves into categories (like canned goods, cereals, etc.) and put them back where they belong. Finally, make sure everything has its own place.

  1. Tackle your bathroom.

Clean out your medicine cabinet and throw away expired medications. Then, sort through your toiletries and put them back in order. Finally, wipe down your sink and tub and give them a good scrubbing.

  1. Clean out the Closet.

Next, clean out the closet. Take everything out of the closet and sort through each item. Put aside anything that isn't being worn, such as clothes that need dry cleaning, shoes that haven't been worn in months, and other items that no longer fit. Throw out old clothing that has holes or stains, and donate the rest to charity.

  1. Organize Your Bedroom.

Now, organize your bedroom. Sort through your bedding and throw away any items that aren't being used. If you're not using an ironing board, put it away. Remove clutter from dresser drawers by sorting through them and throwing away items that aren't being worn.

  1. Go through Your Jewelry Box.

If you're looking for ways to declutter your jewelry box, start by going through everything in there. Sort through your earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and other accessories. Toss any items that aren't being worn.

  1. Clear off your desk.

It's easy to let clutter build up at work, especially during the holiday season. Take some time to clear off your desk before the new year begins. Make sure to keep things organized and tidy so you can focus on getting things done.

  1. Take inventory of your bookshelves.

If you're looking to declutter your home, start with your bookshelves. Books can easily become an obstacle to living a more productive life. They also tend to collect dust and require a lot of space. Instead of storing them in boxes, consider donating them to a local library or selling them online.
